Wellness Tips for Women

Selfcare in Five Minutes a Day

When you’re a super busy woman, sometimes literally running from one task to another, you end up tired, run down and unwell – physically and emotionally.

I personally find that if I don’t take a few minutes here and here throughout the day to focus on my wellbeing then I end up feeling stressed and eventually fall in a heap….. also known as burn out.
There are a few simple wellness tips for women I’d like to share with you.  I try to follow these wellness tips myself (rather imperfectly I must admit) as part of my daily routine to keep me running on all cylinders.  But before we get to that I’d like you to do two quick activities for me.
What’s your why? 
Why do you do the things you do and why are they important to you? I’m not talking about the practical aspects of why like if I don’t pick my child up they will be standing at school at 6pm. I’m talking about the bigger picture why, as in I take my child to soccer because I want them to be healthy and a team player. Or I work with foster children because I want them to experience love and get a second chance at life. You know that inner purpose stuff that makes you squirm a bit but also gives you warm fuzzies.
I’m asking you to do this because if you know your why, then your can return to it when you feel like you’re losing motivation.
What are your goals?
What do you want to achieve in this thing called life? A new house? New job? A new outfit? Learning a language? What ever it is write it down and consider making a vision board.

Now…. Here are My Four Wellness Tips for Women

Wellness Tip 1
Set aside two minutes when you first open your eyes in the morning. Run through all of the positive things in your life and all of the things you want to achieve. Don’t give any airtime to the things you don’t like or don’t want to happen. Think about how your day is going to play out – once again this is best case scenario – and visualise it.
Wellness Tip 2
I want you to do that again each night. Run through all the things you are grateful for, all the things you love, the things that went well today and all the things you want to achieve. If any negative thoughts pop in push them out by focusing on what you love about your life.
Wellness Tip 3
We’re meant to stand once an hour for our health so if you work at an office and spend the majority of the day sitting like I do, set a timer and stand up, walk around or do five squats every hour. While your doing that think about your goals again, always visualising the positives.
Wellness Tip 4
If you suffer from anxiety or money blocks try EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique.  It’s a type of therapy that involves positive affirmations and tapping your acupressure points.  This one is a life changer!  If you’re not familiar with it, head to Youtube and just type in EFT and you’ll find a clip for sure.
